Amarok & mysql

Amarok is a great multimedia library with a broad Multimedia Devices support

Open console to install amarok $ sudo apt-get install amarok then confirm `$ y to start $ amarok

amarok run with SQLite, for better performace i use MySQL

to install mysql $ sudo apt-get install mysql-server mysql-client

–> enter root password then run the following commands

mysql -p -u root
CREATE DATABASE amarok;
USE mysql;
GRANT ALL ON amarok.\* TO amarok@localhost IDENTIFIED BY ‘PASSWORD\_CHANGE\_ME’;
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;

In Amarok, go to settings> configure Amarok Click Collection

Select MySQL.

Use the following settings:

Hostname: 127.0.0.1
Database: amarok
Port: 3306
Username: root
Password: Your Password
